Media Bias
=
Lies on Campus
The Israel-bashing media has bruised Israel's reputation and influenced the
opinion of the masses and of world leaders. So too on campus the demonization
of Israel continues to shape many minds. The popularity of this phenomenon has
grown and grown; consequently leaving many students with opinions resolutely
decided on hating Israel. This puts lovers of Israel in a perilous position:
either we step up to the challenge and defend Israel or watch as the tides turn
more and more against her.
Media Bias
The power of the media lies in the fact that it reaches so many so quickly and
is always perceived as the truth. We are constantly bombarded with news and
media; so much so that we have lost our sensitivity to bias. We don't even
flinch when we hear the words "occupied territories," "Palestinian militants,"
or "Israel proper." But if we want to win this war, we need to watch our words.
Lies on Campus
Even
more alarming is the volume of lies and hatred that proliferate in institutions
devoted to higher learning and truth. Be it sitting in class listening to
Israel-bashing, watching as anti-Semites are brought to speak to the student
body or being routinely assaulted and accosted for what you believe in,
challenges are popping up everywhere for those who stand up for Israel.
Israel Advocacy Seminar Speaker Challenges Students To Confront Anti-Israeli Attitudes
"It is essential to
not remain silent and not to take for granted the unique talents you have. You must use them in whatever way you can to express
yourself. If you don't use this gift, then history will ask you, 'How did you make a difference?'" said Rabbi Tovia Singer". Read
